  Dane Chapter - Prairie Invasives Removal - Table Bluff (north)
There's a great variety of prairie forbs and grasses to enjoy, and while science may have given us seedless watermelon, it hasn't given us weedless prairies, so we need your help removing the invaders. It's also a great section of Trail to hike if you haven't done so before (or even if you have!).

Meet at 9 AM. Take Hwy 14 ~ .2 miles west of Cross Plains to Cty KP. Turn right and go ~ 2 miles north to Table Bluff Rd. Turn left for ~ .3 miles and park in parking area on left side of road. Long pants, with sturdy shoes and gloves recommended. Sun screen, a hat, bug spray and lots of cold fluids are also suggested. We have a section of Trail that needs upgrading to reevaluate where the Trail would best go, and we want your opinion! We also have great prairie areas in the Ice Age Junction, and it's a fine opportunity to take a hike and offer your thoughts.

  Dane County - Trail Scouting Hike - Cross Plains
We have the opportunity to extend the Trail in Cross Plains thanks to new land acquired by the Village. Join Tom to explore and help scout this new area and offer your thoughts as to the best Trail location and views.

Meet at 1 PM at the Chippewa Moraine Visitor Center (near New Auburn) to enjoy a Sunday afternoon ramble along a section of the IAT in Chippewa County. Each hike this season explores a new section of the trail, one you may have missed or not fully appreciated before!

Holy Hill Segment - North Section.  Hike 4.0 miles one way.  Meet at DNR's parking lot at the beach at Pike Lake State Park.  Shuttle to Pleasant Hill Rd then hike back to the beach picnic area in time for the Chapter's annual picnic.  Hike is rated easy to moderate with some hills.

The theme is fun!  Bring something to grill and a dish to pass.  The club will provide the grill, soda and lots of stories to share.  Meet at the picnic shelter at the south end of the beach parking lot at Pike Lake State Park.  No pet allowed in the picnic area so leave fido at home but bring your swimsuit to cool off after a pre-picnic hike.

PORTAGE COUNTY--Biking the Helen Brachman Loop on Low Traveled Scenic roads within the IAT Corridor. This loop is about 16 miles and midpoint will be in Hartman Creek State Park for a rest stop. Wear a helmet and bring a water bottle. From Stevens Point/Plover, go east HWY 54 about 15 miles, south (right) on CTY “A” 3 miles, turn west (right) Asbury Drive, the road to Camp Helen Brachman.  This camp is located on the north side of Pickerel Lake.  Leaders: Dean & Loretta Klingenberg, 715-824-5475.

  Dane County - Trail Hike - Lodi Marsh State Wildlife Area
Please join us for a six mile hike on the Lodi segment of the Ice Age Trail. We'll hike through woodlands and prairies containing abundant summer wildflowers. The hike is moderate with some large hills. This is a joint hike with the Sierra Club.

Meet at the southernmost parking lot along the Lodi-Springfield Road at 10:00 A.M. or carpool from Madison at 9:00 A.M. Bring a snack/lunch, water, insect repellent, and weather appropriate clothing. For information, directions, or to RSVP, contact David Smith at (608) 233-1210.

  Statewide Event: Mobile Skills Crew "Sweeper Tour", High Point Chapter
Come help the High Point Chapter with the second annual MSC  "Sweeper Tour".  More details to come as we head out to the Wood & Rib Lake segments of the Ice Age Trail in Taylor County.

We'll provide meals and a place to camp for event participants. You are welcome to come for all or any part of the event, and no previous trail-building experience is necessary!

Explore the Greenwood wildlife Area under the light of a Full Moon. Hosted by Guy Kaplan, you will walk 1.5 miles through the prairie to a large kettle and back.   Marathon County Chapter - Geology Bus Tour
Held in conjunction with the Continuing Education Dept. at UW Marathon County, bus tour led by Gene Musolf, retired professor of Geology, will provide a close up look at significant glacial structures of eastern Marathon County.  A short hike on the trail and box lunch (Dells of the Eau Claire County Park or Hatley branch of the Public Library) included.  Anticipated cost $20-$22 per person based on minimum of 20 participants.  Additional details available in July.  Contact Vickie Richmond Hawkins at UWMC (715) 261-6309 to sign up.  You may also contact Vickie or Dick Pernsteiner (715-848-3675) with questions.

PM in the late PM under the FM. Think of viewing the prairie flowers and majestic oaks under the full moon, all while gazing out from atop the moraine over the driftless area landscapes. It may not quite be heaven, but you may feel a bit closer to it.

Meet at the IAT parking area on CTH I. From Luck on STH 48, go east 5 ½ miles to CTH I, turn north about one mile to the trail head. Bring bag lunch and a beverage. Follow the yellow IAT event signs.
