Chippewa Moraine National Trails Day Hike

June 1 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free
Ice Age Trail Alliance, Ice Age National Scenic Trail, MSC, trailbuilding, boardwalk, firth lake segment, chippewa moraine chapter

June 1 is National Trails Day, a day to celebrate trails of all kinds but most especially hiking trails. We’re celebrating in Chippewa County as well, on the Ice Age Trail of course.  This year we will be hiking the Firth Lake Segment.  The hike will start at 245th Ave. at the western trailhead and finish at 250th Ave. at the trail access point.  Hikers will get to check out our new DCAs and our new 736 foot boardwalk at the south end of Firth Lake.  Keep your eyes peeled for the Wisconsin Rock.

Meet at the Ice Age Trail trailhead parking lot on County Highway CC (2 miles north of Hwy. 64) at 9 AM and we’ll organize shuttles to the trail.   The hike is approximately 6 miles and we will finish around 1:00.  Bring snacks or a sack lunch, water, and your insect strategy of choice. Wear long pants so you can tuck them in to ward off the occasional tick.
