We will start the 2024 hiking season off on the northern part of the West Bend Segment.  We will be seeking signs of spring such as robins singing, trees budding, and green vegetation starting to emerge.

LOCATION: Meet in the parking lot near Culver’s, on the north side of Highway 33 west of US 45, West Bend. Click here for driving directions. Watch for yellow “Ice Age Trail Event” signs.

HIKE DESCRIPTION: The hike will head north on the Ice Age Trail from Highway 33, go across Park Avenue, and up to the Glacial Blue Hills Recreation Area.  At Glacial Blue Hills we will turn around, heading back south and going mainly downhill.  The total hike distance will be 3.4 miles.

WHAT TO BRING: Wear comfortable hiking boots and dress appropriately for the weather. Bring water, and traction devices could be helpful if there is still snow or ice on the ground.  Be prepared for a little mud or water on the trail.
