Our restored prairies and savannas require much attention, especially in their early years, to rid them of wild parsnip, yellow and white sweet clover, burdock, mullein, curly dock, Japanese hedge parsley and other invading exotics.  There may be some infestations suitable for power brushcutters as well as hand work.   Bring sturdy boots or shoes, long-sleeved shirt, long pants, gloves, brimmed hat, water, sun screen and insect repellant (for chiggers and perhaps mosquitoes).  Microspikes also may be helpful on some of the steep slopes here; contact leader to learn if we’ll be doing any work on them.  If operating power equipment, bring eye and ear protection as well.
