Starting at the old parking lot (nearest Hwy PB), the Ice Age Trail loops over and behind the Johnstown terminal moraine, the predominant glacial feature of this park.  Firebreaks and park trails also permit loops near the wooded crest of the moraine in the eastern part of the park.  If there’s not enough snow to warrant snowshoes, simply rely on your hiking boots and enjoy a crisp winter walk.  We’ll return to the lot at hike’s end.
