Geology Hike – Central Moraines Chapter

October 8, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Please join us as we take in the fall splendor of the northern Ringle Segment. UWSP Senior Lecturer of Geology & Geography, Lisa Siewert will be leading the hike and talking about kettles, kames, eskers and more along the trail and taking your questions. The pace will be easy as we stop and talk geology and take lots of photos of the fall colors. Meet at the HWY N trailhead, located 1.4 miles west of the corner of HWY Y and HWY N. Overflow parking will be on Helf Road. Our yellow event signs will guide you the rest of the way.  Feel free to turn around at any time for a shorter distance or to hike your own hike.  Max distance for the group hike will be 5 miles with a group carpool option to Poplar Road.  This is a self-supported hike.  Bring at least a quart of water and your favorite snacks to enjoy along the way.  Dress in layers as fall weather has arrived.  Do to trail regulations on this segment, NO DOGS are allowed on this hike. Sorry. See you there.
