Hike and Meet Monty-Chippewa Moraine Chapter
October 13 @ 12:00 pm - 3:30 pm
FreeCome and enjoy a hike on the beautiful Chippewa River segment. Hike high above the Chippewa River with views of Brunet Island State Park starting by the confluence of the Fisher River, a glacially formed river. After a half mile, cross over into the Krank Preserve and meander through the hills and across a stream before circling around Perch Lake which is a kettle lake popular with fishermen. Hikers will reach the trailhead at Z and then return down the trail back to the CC parking lot for a 3.8 mile hike.
Afterwards, join us at the Cornell Visitor’s Center at the Mill Yard Park to meet Monty and learn about the Ice Age Trail. Kids who participated in the hike are invited to decorate a hiking stick.
Meeting Point: Hikers should meet at the County CC Ice Age Trail parking lot at 11:45. The hike will begin at 12:00. Monty will be at the Cornell Visitor’s Center from 2:00-3:15. Hikers should wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots. Pants and long sleeve shirts are suggested. Bring water and a snack.
