Reinforce your New Year’s resolutions for a healthier you by exploring a scenic section of the St. Croix Falls Segment. The three-mile out-and-back hike features exposed rock outcroppings, basalt knobs, surface bedrock, and lovely wooded areas. Stroll through St. Croix Falls’ Ray Zillmer Park before reaching the Trail Access and Parking area on Day Road, the hike’s turn-around spot. Follow the yellow blazes back to your car parked along Oregon Street.

Distance: 3 miles
Hike Start/End Point: Roadside parking on Oregon Street (Sunrise Road), St. Croix Falls.

• Prepare for a hike or snowshoe depending on the snow depth.
• Know your activity tolerance and respect that.
• Dress for the weather, bring water, and carry a snack.
