We will be working on the West Bend segment both north and south of Highway 33.  On the north side, we will pick up trash and cut back brush.  On the south side, we will mow, cut down brush, and haul logs up to the road on the property where a bridge to Ridge Run Park will be installed.

No previous experience is necessary; training is provided by certified volunteer crew leaders. There will be roles for all ages and abilities. Tools will be provided.

LOCATION: Meet in the parking lot near Culver’s, on the north side of Highway 33 west of US 45, West Bend. Click here for driving directions. If possible please park in the big parking lot for the retail center north of Culver’s, so that all of the businesses have good parking for their customers.  Watch for yellow “Ice Age Trail Event” signs.

WHAT TO BRING: We recommend wearing a long-sleeve shirt, pants, and hat for trail work.  Sturdy hiking or work boots and leather work gloves are also recommended for some tasks.  You may also want to bring a bottle of water, backpack, insect repellent, and sunscreen.

RSVP: If you are planning to help, please RSVP with the number of people attending by April 1 to the chapter email (washozctychapter@iceagetrail.org).  This allows us to plan how much work to tackle and the number of tools to bring.

NOTE FOR NEW VOLUNTEERS: If this is your first time volunteering for the Ice Age Trail Alliance, or if you haven’t submitted an updated 301a Volunteer Agreement form in the past 12 months, you MUST download the form and fill it out.  (Please use the 301a form linked here which includes pre-populated fields for the Ice Age Trail.)  The form can be submitted electronically to the National Park Service as described in the instructions, or you can print it out and bring it to the worksite.
