This hike offers both dense, dark woods and open, moonlit fields. A great mix of both experiences as we hike along through the gathering darkness.

We will hike 4.2 miles one-way on the Loew Lake Segment of the Ice Age Trail, meeting at the DNR’s Emerald Drive parking lot click here for driving directions. We will then carpool to the DNR’s parking lot near Monches and then hike back to the Emerald Drive parking lot.

The hike is rated moderate due to hills and distance and includes two short road walks on Emerald Drive, a state Rustic Road. A State Park sticker is not required.
