Waukesha/Milwaukee Chapter Mid-Week Hike

October 29, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Free

Join us for a Mid-Week Hike on the Eagle Segment of the IAT. This segment borders two State Natural Areas. One, the Scuppernong Prairie Natural Area, features the largest native wet prairie east of the Mississippi. The second, the Kettle Moraine Low Prairie Natural Area, has undergone extensive restoration and is now home to several long-dormant plant species.

We will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Hwy 67 Trailhead and shuttle to the Hwy 59 lot. We will then hike the 4.5 miles back to the Hwy 67 lot. Hikers should wear comfortable hiking shoes or boots and dress appropriately for the weather. Plan to bring water and a snack. A walking stick and insect repellant are recommended. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet and under the owner’s control at all times. Don’t forget your camera!
